Also, we are fortunate to live close to Boston with its world-class medical facilities, culinary delights, and cultural activities.
Services for Older Falmouth Residents
The Falmouth Senior Services Department functions as a human services organization for all residents of Falmouth who are at least 60 years old. The Senior Services Department manages the Senior Center, provides assistance, information on available resources, health services, referrals to other community agencies, education and recreation programs and activities. There is a special emphasis on promoting Healthy Aging and Enhancing Quality of Life for Seniors. The center offers a wide range of services and activities including social programs, exercise classes, health related programs, outreach services, nutrition programs and support groups.

Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands
Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to promoting welfare, enhancing the quality of life, and maintaining the dignity of older adults in Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties. Some of the programs offered by Elder Services include: in-home services for frail older adults, nutrition services and meal delivery, long-term care screening, options counseling, family caregiver support, protective services for abused or neglected individuals, and money management programs, among others.

The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands
The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands is dedicated to suicide prevention by providing support to individuals in crisis, those contemplating suicide, and those affected by suicide. The organization answers calls from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Samaritans-trained staff and volunteers are available to answer calls 24/7/365.
988 is the national Suicide & Crisis Lifeline offering 24/7 support to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress, or suicidal thoughts. It’s for people in immediate danger and also for anyone feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, struggling with substance use, or concerned about a loved one. No insurance or ID is required. The Community Health Center is a federally qualified health center committed to delivering integrated high-quality healthcare to individuals and families, regardless of income, insurance status, or background. With sites in Mashpee, Falmouth, North Falmouth, Bourne, Centerville, and Sandwich, the Health Center provides a full range of services, including primary medical care, urgent walk-in care, dental care, behavioral health services, substance use recovery support, optometry, pharmacy services, nutrition and wellness counseling, and specialty care. Cape Cod Healthcare is a leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod. With more than 600 physicians, over 5,000 employees and over 250 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare is comprised of two acute care hospitals, homecare and hospice services, six urgent care centers, a primary and specialty care network, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, an assisted living facility, and numerous health services and programs. The organization's website has a listing of physicians on the Cape, including availability of primary care. Cape Cod Healthcare runs Urgent Care Centers across the Cape, including one in Falmouth. The centers, staffed by ER-trained doctors and nurses, offer the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries.
