Though we have not quite reached our membership and fund raising goals, we have met with general enthusiasm for the Neighborhood Falmouth concept, and we believe that a live organization is likely to prompt more commitments to membership than a promised one. We instituted some cost-saving measures to allow the startup without limiting benefits promised to members.
We are delighted that Kendall and Karin Bohr have agreed to be co-executive directors. They bring excellent business experience to Neighborhood Falmouth as well as broad knowledge of senior needs and volunteer services. They are running the organization from their home in North Falmouth, at least for this first year, saving office rental costs.
Enthusiastic board members are needed. If you would be interested in serving on the Board, or if you know anyone who may be interested (board positions may be held by both members and nonmembers of Neighborhood Falmouth), please let Vicky Cullen know (508-548-1027 or vcullen@whoi.edu).
Bringing in new members continues to be very important, so please talk Neighborhood Falmouth up with friends and neighbors, at clubs and groups you may belong to, with your minister, and anywhere else that potential members may be contacted.
